| All aluminum beds provide a rugged design that is also lightweight, saving approximately 800 pounds over a conventional steel bed. This correlates to almost 100 extra gallons of water that the truck is capable of hauling. The bed is designed so that the weight of the water tank, which when full amounts to almost two thirds of the total bed weight, rides directly on the truck frame and is not supported by the aluminum bed. The aluminum bed is also corrosion resistant and does not need to be painted. The aluminum also gives a very attractive appearance. |
